“King Pelé” is not just a talented football player, but he is also one of the most honorable players. The Pele brand was created to embrace his vision, passion, skillful touch, distinctive Brazilian style and his true love for the game (Pele Sports).
Pele even has a set of boots named after the years Pelé won the World Cup, in 1958, 1962 and 1970.
Note: Well executed, similar toRonaldinho logo, the Péle logo was also designed using the signture stylized lettering, which works great for the dancing style of Brazilian players.
Pelé Sports 2010:
In 2010 Philippe Intraligi, redesigned the logo and created a illustration collection for the brand. Philippe is an artist who specializing in a wide range of disciplines including currently based in New York City who specializing in a wide range of disciplines including illustration, graphic design, branding, art direction, and fashion graphics.
Note: I love the illustrations, and the overall look fits the Péle brand. Not much change in the logo, it was simply cleaned up and left alone to be the way it was meant to be.
The Pelé Sports Pelada crest:
“The Pelé Sports Pelada crest signifies a collection that embraces Pelé’s small-sided background and is designed with those specialists in mind who continue to bring a new form of attitude to the game” (source).
The Portuguese Cross to the right of the crest is a symbol also part of the Brazilian Crest. The star above represents the only World Cup Pelé won while still playing Futsal (source).
What do you think of Pele now… probably not much different, but I hope you enjoyed this weeks Famous Player Logo. Have a great weekend and don’t forget to watch a lot of football!
