Today is the start of our Famous Player Logo series.
Footy Design presents Brazilian icon Ronaldinho.
Nike Ronaldinho 10R
A year after winning the 2005 FIFA Ballon d’Or, Ronaldinho teamed up with Nike to create the 10R brand; one of the earliest Famous Player Logos. In 2006 Nike introduced the first exclusive pair of boots created for a individual football players. The Nike Tiempo 10R Boot features all of the specs Ronaldinho wanted. The boot even went viral when the video of Ronaldinho juggling the ball and kicking it off the crossbar was posted on Youtube. This was the first ever YouTube video to reach one million views! (see video bellow)

Note: The lettering fits perfectly with Ronaldinho’s style of play (creative and joyful), and compliments the Brazilian Culture.
In 2013 Ronaldinho teamed up with the creative agency Valkiria to create [R]ONE. According to Valkiria, Ronaldinho’s new brand is looking to reach a broader market by connecting with consumers outside of the football and sports world.
Valkiria Case Study: Development of a personal branding project for professional soccer player Ronaldinho Gaúcho, in order to license it to manufacturers from different niche markets. The project should not be related uniquely to sports performance. The brand should contemplate products for its applications, as well as the concepts for this products and possible partners for manufacturing and distribution.
